How do I find out who my public defender is?

If the courts have determined you qualify for a Public Defender, the court will notify our office and we will typically assign you a Public Defender within forty-eight (48) hours of receiving the notice from the court.

You may call our office at (812) 752-5920 or visit Case Search to learn who your Public Defender is. You do not get to pick your Public Defender. Indiana law entitles you to a court appointed attorney if you cannot afford an attorney, but DOES NOT entitle you to the court appointed attorney of your choice.
